Synopsis :
"Just over twenty years ago I went to my first Tottenham Hotspur football match at White Hart Lane. From that moment I was hooked. From the Lane is the story of one fan in the following of their club over two decades, interspersed with episodes of a personal life that all impact back on what it is like to be a football fan."
Our verdict :
This book was a joy to read, as Oliver Wright became hooked on Spurs from about the same time I started following Tottenham myself and all the seasons described in the book brought back a lot of wonderful memories. The way Oliver describes his devotion to the Lillywhites is very recognizable to most Spurs fans. After all the ups and downs from the past two decades,
we all hope that the next season will finally bring the success we dream off. The book describes the seasons from 1987 untill now, including the Martin Jol era. "...From The Lane..." is a well written book that every Spurs fan will enjoy.
